psi: Plant Photosystem I excitation energy transfer network (2020)
Weighted directed network of the light-harvesting Photosystem Ι (PSI) of the plant Pisum sativum. The nodes represent chromophores with different identities (i.e. chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, β-carotene and derivates, lutein, violaxanthin), while edges represent FRET transfer between chromophores. The link directionality connecting nodes in the PSI network depends on the energy levels of the connected chromophores. The…

Antonio Arellano, a spokesperson for NextGen, a national youth-focused nonpartisan voter registration and education program, called the 59-year-old #Kamala #Harris a “liaison” between the administration and the parts of the Democratic base that were critical to Biden’s 2020 victory but hold reservations about him now.

Tolle Studie:

Special counsel urges Supreme Court to reject Trump’s immunity claim
Special counsel Jack Smith on Monday urged the Supreme Court to reject Donald Trump’s “novel and sweeping” claim that he is immune from criminal prosecution on charges of conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
“The President’s constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed does not entail a general right to violate them,” Smith said in his office’s main brie…

Hey, John Oliver - thanks for promoting my idea about getting rid of bad judges on your show. But you are about 17 years late to the party.
I kinda wish you had given me credit for the idea.
I first wrote about paying judges to leave back in 2007 -
DeBushification of the judiciary - The early retirement bonus plan
And I raised it again in 2020 - Do We Need Rubber Rooms for Federal Judges? Two Plans To Reduce The Long Tailed Impact of Trump Judicial Appointees
Remember that you can "no hire" companies too.
You want me to train three big models and hand you running code for your take home test when I've trained them, deployed them at scale, rev'd them, and there's a public Stack Overflow blog post co-authored by me explaining the whole thing?
That's a no hire from me.

Working on a #3dPrinting project with 8x3mm neodymium magnets. I ordered a ton in late 2020 and got low this weekend, so I ordered more.
I’ve created models for the specific batch and before I used my last two old magnets, I decided to just measure one vs the new.
Pretty surprised to see such a big difference. My old ones were quite undersized (13%), the new ones definitely won’t fi…

Abstract: Timely monetary policy decision-making requires timely core inflation measures. We create a new core inflation series that is explicitly designed to succeed at that goal. Precisely, we introduce the Assemblage Regression, a generalized nonnegative ridge regression problem that optimizes the price index's subcomponent weights such that the aggregate is maximally predictive of future headline inflation. Ordering subcomponents according to their rank in each period switches the algorithm to be learning supervised trimmed inflation - or, put differently, the maximally forward-looking summary statistic of the realized price changes distribution. In an extensive out-of-sample forecasting experiment for the US and the euro area, we find substantial improvements for signaling medium-term inflation developments in both the pre- and post-Covid years. Those coming from the supervised trimmed version are particularly striking, and are attributable to a highly asymmetric trimming which contrasts with conventional indicators. We also find that this metric was indicating first upward pressures on inflation as early as mid-2020 and quickly captured the turning point in 2022. We also consider extensions, like assembling inflation from geographical regions, trimmed temporal aggregation, and building core measures specialized for either upside or downside inflation risks.
There are only 2 options to explain Biden's complete lack of fucks given about getting anyone's votes:
1) the election is rigged in his favor so he doesn't have to care
2) the bourgeoisie have already chosen Trump so Biden's favorability doesn't matter
My money is on 1.
I think 2 is discredited by how hard the 2020 election was fought. I don't see signs that the bourgeoisie have flipped that much in just 4 years.
So I expect 1 is the case.<…

Furthermore, potassium has been shown to enhance bone health and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. A study published in the journal Nutrients in 2020 revealed that potassium plays a key role in maintaining bone density and strength, especially in postmenopausal women. By increasing your potassium intake through foods like bananas, sweet potatoes, and avocados, you can support healthy bones and reduce the risk of fractures.

Mitt Romney Has Crystal Clear Message On Voting For Trump
“Having a president who is so defaulted of character would have an enormous impact on the character of America. And for me, that’s the primary consideration.”
Romney didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 or 2020, and he said last year he would likely make the same decision at the polls in November should Trump be the nominee.
